Purling really sucks *sighs* but I am determined to get this.

Thursday, December 20, 2007

It's a lazy day today. No work, Nothing to do but sit and watch movies and knit.

So I am going to be re-learning my purling. I remember why I hated it it's so annoying.

I am very determined to do this. Even if it drives me crazy I will learn how to knit properly.

As for the movie I went through my old movies and I found a gem of a movie that I haven't watched in some time. Serendipity you know that movie with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.

This movie is such a guilty pleasure for me. It's such a sappy movie. Soul mates who meet have a one night of bliss decide because the girl is bonehead to part ways and see if they are really meant to be. Than when fate seems like they never will meet again amazing events happen and they find their way back to each other. Sappy such a chick flick but I love it.

I love John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale.

I also love the scarf Kate's Character Sara wears.

I was also inspired to make some Serendipity Frozen Hot Chocolate. I got the recipe from a friend I'm not talking about the good morning america version I'm talking about the monster recipe version. I had made a cup of this about a month ago and I had enough for just one more and OMFG it came out amazing.

I have never been to New York but one day I hope I will and I when I do I'll go during the holidays. I'll see the Macy's parade, Rockefeller Center Tree, Macy's windows, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and go to FAO Schwarz.

After all is said and done I will head over to Serendipity 3 and have myself a cup of their world famous Frozen Hot Chocolate. But until than this homemade version will have to do.

So now it's back to knitting. Purl Purl...damn...pur..*head bangs on chair* PURL...YES!

I went to the swap meet yesterday and I got a sweet deal on some yarn. 10 rolls of yarn for only $1.00 yup you read it right ONE DOLLAR!

I went walking around and if I did see some yarn they were asking crazy prices like one lady wanted $7.00 another $10.00 and it was basic yarn.

So my hopes were not in high spirits when I saw this woman's container it read " YARN FOR SALE" I asked how much when she said $1.00 I almost fell over this other lady said " I'll take it " I was bummed but the seller said " She was first would you like to buy it?" I of course said yes and it was a victirous day yesterday.

I love the colors no pink. I really like the Green roll.

I am also trying to re-learn the basics. I knew how to knit a few years ago but because of famliy problems I stopped. Well let's just say when I finally started again I wasn't very good.

When they say " It's like riding a Bike " well not when it comes to knitting. I attempted to make a sweater and it wasn't pretty. So I decided a few months back to take this year to re-learn the basics before I just into making anything.

I know it's not the greatest but I am trying.

I know it's been a long while in fact I have been non-existent on this blog because I have been way too busy. Sadly even too busy to knit but now I am getting back into it.

I am going to go back to the basics and try to learn to knit all again. I know the how toes but I think I need to do this so i can see where my faults are.

I got this great book from leastlikely called the Stitch 'N Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook by Debbie Stoller. It's a wonderful book.

To me I know some people might disagree but Knitting was easier to learn than Crocheting.

I have decided that this will be my knitting blog. I am a new knitter and I am going to be posting my progress.

At the moment I can cast on, do a knit stitches and I did it all in less a day which to me is pretty darn good because I don't catch on to things so easily.

I am going to learn to purl tomorrow. A friend told me to learn the basics first some new knitters make the mistake of just jumping in. So I am going to take about a couple of weeks to really get the feel of everything before I even attempt to make something.
